At this time of year the bees are resting. The queenbees have stopped laying eggs and are collecting them selves from the summer in order to be at full strength in spring. During winter the beekeeper will take action to preserve his gear and prep for spring. The empty honey comb frames will be cleansed and strelised and after that threaded with metal strings. A new wax leaf will be attached on these metal strings and will serve as a base for the bees to start building their cells in spring.
