Recycling the beeswax
Roussos and Stavros Viglis are melting this year’s empty honeycombs in order to collect all the wax the bees made and reuse it for new honeycombs. This way the bees wax is recycled and reused! They use a steamer to melt the honey combs in a barrel. The melted wax is filtered through a cloth so it is rinsed from any other particles. The liquid that exits the barrel is a mixture of wax and water and is collected in buckets. When the liquid cools down the wax separates it self from the water naturally (as it is much lighter).
